Global Winner Award Plaque.png

On October 2-4, NASA invited coders, entrepreneurs, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, builders, artists, and technologists to come together in Space Apps 2020, a global, virtual hackathon.

During a period of 48 hours, or 12 in our case since we were working with high school students, we made and mentored an app that brings together two zeitgeists as a force for good: climate change and gaming.

Our mission: illuminate the current impact of climate change on endangered species (read: all species) using satellite imagery and climate data.

The context: it has to be fun, use space agency data, and inspire real-world decisions with real-world impact.

The result: Global Winner standing out of 2,303 submissions.
